How the penalty works
Administrative citation fines for residential/non-commercial properties are $100 (1st citation), $300 (2nd) and $500 (3rd and later); commercial properties are $250/$500/$1,000 (7.90.070). Criminal prosecution instead carries up to $1,000 and/or six months, with a $500 minimum for a third conviction for the same violation within two years (7.90.040).
The carry rule
